About
Christopher P. Adams was born on February 1, 1966 in Hartford, Connecticut. As a child, Christopher's religious upbringing was as a part of one of the world's most prominent cults. His family was extremely faithful, and devoted, to its church and its beliefs. In 1980, Christopher's family ceased their association with this cult. He and his three siblings were permitted to seek, and choose, their own walks of faith.
For the next several years, Christopher studied the Bible and visited various faith communities. In 1983, during his senior year of high school, Christopher met, and befriended, a classmate Julianne Hyatt whom he later found out was a born-again believer. It was through the life, testimony, and witness of this young woman of God that Christopher learned, for the first time in his life, of the possibility and importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. On December 21, 1983, this important possibility became a reality for Christopher, as he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Shortly after his conversion, Christopher began attending a Gospel-preaching, Bible-believing church in Newington, Connecticut. In February and March 1984, Christopher followed the Lord in believer's baptism and church membership. During his eight year membership, Christopher served the Lord in many different ministries. He especially enjoyed serving the Lord through music. A professional singer since the age of 12, Christopher took great joy in lifting his voice. In 1991, the Lord lead Christopher to assist in starting a Gospel-preaching, Bible-believing church in New Britain, Connecticut. For 13 years, he served as the church's Minister of Music. The Lord called Christopher to preach in 1999. Though he already earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Hartford in 1987, Christopher knew that "a call to preach was a call to prepare". So Christopher enrolled in the Hartford Seminary's Black Ministries Program; completing his studies in 2001. Christopher was ordained by the Independent Baptist Alliance in February, 2003. Reverend Adams serves the Lord as Chaplain of Adelbrook the Children's Home of Cromwell, a Christian residential facility, for young people from abused, neglected or troubled backgrounds. He is also serves as interim pastor of Bethlehem Covenant Church in Worcester, Massachusetts. Christopher's life verse is 1 Samuel 16:7. "For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.." The Lord blessed Christopher with a beautiful family. He and his wife Leona, married on July 1, 1989, and have two sons, Andrew and Timothy. Christopher Adams has a unique and powerful voice that is appreciated, and enjoyed, by many.
